Sunday, October 6 - THE TOTALLY MADE UP ORCHESTRA

Sunday, October 6

Glasgow Kennedy Centre, The Quay, Ballina, F26 RH58

Public Performance: 2pm (30 mins approx)

Free event but ticket required

Brian Irvine passionately believes orchestras are leaving too many people behind and that too many people in our communities feel orchestras are ‘not for the likes of me’ and have nothing in common with them and their lives.

Brian Irvine’s “The Totally Made Up Orchestra” is in total contrast and a unique orchestra that blends composition, improvisation, words, sounds, movements, noises, gestures, humour and much head scratching into a unique and captivating performance.

Come and hear the ambitious and fun-filled new music written by the orchestra during a morning workshop in Ballina as it uniquely places the experiences, lives and worlds of Ballina people and participants from all social classes at its heart.

Experience The Totally Made Up Orchestra in Ballina as it brings the brilliance of the orchestral experience to more people and truly reaches out to new people. Forget any stuffy perceptions you might have of orchestras. This is like nothing you’ve ever heard before!

Super fun and wild adventurous music guaranteed!

We’d love the orchestra – which likely includes people you know – to have a sizeable, supportive and enthusiastic audience for their 30 minute concert, so please come along, grab a coffee and be prepared to be ‘wowed’!

If you’d like to take part in the orchestra perfomance, find out more here.
