Saturday, October 14 - Cascade: A Walking Conversation
(reduced mobility friendly route)
Saturday, October 14, 2pm
Ballina Town Centre
Meeting Point: The Font, Bury St
Free admission
Duration: 90 minutes approx
The UCD Centre for Irish Towns, Ballina, Ireland’s Greenest Town, and artist Ríonach Ní Néill’s initiative Cascade seeks to understand how the laneways of our historic town centres can adapt to cope with climate change.
Cascade will explore how laneways can become a connected trail of climate-resilient, cohesive spaces that celebrate water.
This project – funded by the Creative Ireland Creative Climate Action Fund II: Agents for Change – builds on the previous Ripple project in Greenhills, Ballina which recently won a new European Bauhaus award.
Join the Cascade Team for an interactive walking conversation about Ballina’s lanes, drains and watermains to find out where the water comes from, where it’s going and how it shapes the way we use our towns.
This session will take the red route below, which is reduced mobility friendly.
