LISA HANNIGAN IN CONCERT
WITH SPECIAL GUEST AISLING MULLARKEY

Lisa Hannigan is one of Ireland’s brightest stars. A singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Hannigan carved out a hugely promising international career as a solo artist.

Hannigan first came to light as a somewhat mysterious figure singing harmonies alongside Damien Rice. She contributed significantly to Rice’s platinum-selling debut O and critically lauded follow up 9.

They played together for seven years, but it wasn’t until the release of her solo debut ‘Sea Sew’ that the full spectrum of her abilities became apparent. Lisa has since been stretching her musical expertise in many directions: collaborating with artists as diverse as Ray LaMontagne, The National, Richard Hawley, Herbie Hancock and Glen Hansard.

She made an acting debut as Bronagh, a mermaid in the Oscar-nominated animation ‘Song of the Sea’, followed by playing Blue Diamond in Cartoon Network’s ‘Steven Universe’ and her haunting voice featured on soundtracks for the TV series ‘Fargo’, ‘Legion’ and the Oscar-winning score for ‘Gravity’, all the while founding and co-hosting the acclaimed ‘Soundings’ podcast (which saw Lisa turn interviewer, and speak to guests such as Harry Shearer, Sharon Horgan and David Arnold).

Over the course of her extensive career to date Lisa has appeared at festivals all over the world, and live TV appearances such as the Tonight show with Jay Leno, The Late Late show with James Corden, and The Colbert Report with Stephen Colbert, the Mercury Music prize and Later withJools Holland.

Aisling Mullarkey

Ballina’s Aisling Mullarkey has been singing and performing from a young age.

In 2018 she reached the televised semi-finals of the Junior Eurovision with her own song, written in Irish.

in 2021, Aisling along with her friend Hope won a national songwriting competition set up by Inspiring You Ireland with an uplifting song composed by themselves during lockdown. As part of the prize Damien Dempsey visited their school and they performed together and talked about music.

Aisling was also selected last year by Midwest Radio as one of five national finalists for the Local Hero Talent Search with her original song, during Irish Music Month.

She’s no stranger to busking either, and is a familiar face in Ballina and Enniscrone.

During lockdown, Aisling kitted herself out with recording equipment and created her own Instagram account @aislingmullarkeymusicwhere she started recording and uploading cover songs and things took off from there!
