Breath is the beating heart of life. How can we breathe together again?
Breathe is a lyrical, exciting, relevant performance about the pathway from exhaustion to recovery expressed through circus.
The performers become exhausted trying to do a trick too often, so fail. Only when they take a rest, recuperate, can they do their astonishing acts again. We all need time to recover, time to breathe. Through circus, Breathe illustrates how the Earth also needs ‘recovery periods’, to enable it to breathe. We need to give the Earth time to breathe, too. It’s exhausted, over-mined, deforested, on fire.
In a time of Covid19/post Covid, when the touch of another’s breath is fraught with fears, our ambition is that, by the end of the performance, the whole audience will breathe rhythmically, in time, together again. The audience are our lungs. We will recover together.
Shows at 11am and 2pm. Each show is followed by a workshop:
12pm – SKIP ALONG. 20 minute skipping workshop, learning to skip the circus ecology way.
3pm – UNPLUG AT THE SNOOZE INN. Lie back and listen to soothing words on headphones with your friends and family on giant bean bags in a dedicated chill out space under the sky.
Admission is free of charge but must be prebooked. Tickets for the accompanying circus workshop should be booked separately.
Please note this event takes place outdoors.
