The 7:1 Collective have had three exhibitions during studies at GMIT. The first, on campus in 2016, was an exhibition entitled “Representing the West” the result of a degree module exploring aspects of landscape, identity, and culture in the West of Ireland.

During their third year, in 2017, the collective presented an exhibition in Ballina Art Centre entitled “7:1 Collective: Re: Presenting the West”, their first gallery show. The second on campus exhibition, was their Graduate Degree Show, 2018, where each member showed their individual degree artwork. Two of the 7: 1 Collective, Maggie Coggins and Una Morris are recipients of Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Emerging Artist Residency Award in 2018 and 2019. In 2018 and 2019 respectively, Val McLoughlin and Una Morris were longlisted for the RDS Visual Arts Awards. This will be the 7:1 Collective’s first exhibition since graduation and will showcase the members’ current artworks created outside the art college environment.
