Poetry on the Edge brings professional writers to Ballina for school and community engagement. The aim of the project is to make creative writing and literarture accessible for a variety of audiences.
Poet Terry McDonagh will facilitate a two part poetry workshop over two evenings:
Part 1: Wednesday 13th October, 7pm
Part 2: Thursday 14th October, 7pm
Terry McDonagh
Terry McDonagh Terry McDonagh, poet, translator and dramatist has published numerous poetry collections, bilingual letters (German English), drama, prose and writing for children. He taught creative writing at Hamburg University and facilitates in schools, colleges and at literary festivals in Europe, Asia and Australia.
His poetry has been published worldwide and translated into German and Indonesian, and was recently included in Poetry File on RTE Lyric Fm.
A two-part radio documentary, ‘Two Notes for Home’, on Terry McDonagh, the modern bard of Cill Aodáin, compiled by Werner Lewon, has just been released. His most recent poetry collection is Fourth Floor Flat (Arlen House, 2018). He’s currently completing a collection, ‘Two Notes for Home’. He returned to live in his native Mayo in 2020.
This booking is for both Part 1 and Part 2 of Terry McDonagh’s workshop.
This workshop also includes admission to Poetry on the Edge: Readings which takes place Friday 15th October at 9:30pm (Venue TBC).
